Mudbox arrives

Fri Jul 31, 2009, 7:43 AM
I just got mudbox and its helped me a lot with texturing. Very good program for that application.
I've uploaded the first few instances on my final project. I might add some ivy to the walls to blend it better.
The character is totally over the top. I didn't follow a color theme that was very appealing so I may change it. I made a few sketches which I will have to upload some other time. But follow the links to the new 'CDR' project.

Devious Journal Entry

I love Ratatouille!!! Get me into a conversation about Pixar's masterpiece sometime.
On the subject of movies, I'm going to see Public Enemies tomorrow with a dear.
Should be pretty cool.

I'm texturing a model very soon. I'm skipping ahead and installing biped and animating. This should be interesting.
Look out for my third module 3 installment: CDR01

I know the name sounds lame, but I will get to test out mudbox for the first time. Will post a solid textured model soon. (Sans armor and weapon).

So the guys at Pixar pulled off UP very well. I thought the Partly Cloudy animation was alright. Cant go wrong with amorphous volumetric forms... well I think the only movie that really pulled that off was The WAll. I digress, the movie made me have horrible visions of my heroes corrupted by awry motives. IMO said film didn't have me on the edge like WALL-E did or Ratatouille. Visually stunning scenery made UP colourful and alive. I didn't get to see it in 3d but I would go back to see it again just for that. Cool stuff in the movie UP. Don't take my word for it! (go see it)

More art to come soon. I've only gotten one complaint so far and many comments. Keep a heads-up on my Facebook for new additions. Yes more 3d and 2d art. I'm looking for inspiration this summer and things are going well.

If you like my artwork don't hesitate to contact me with suggestions and comments. More feedback more art.

PS: Don't forget to look at my favorite's gallery. It's very important that you respect those artists if you appreciate mine!

more new stuff soon

I just got a new computer it's specifically intended for use with 3ds Max and Maya, so I will be adding 3d work by the end of this year. I will continue to upload more Photoshop images and other art I will be doing. This next year should be exciting and interesting as I am taking a course on 3d art that is geared towards game design. If you liked my art in the past get ready for some intensely psychedelic and mind bending artwork, as well as some traditional art, starting this last quarter of 2008. I hope everyone will enjoy what they see.

new stuff soon

I wanted to start off by saying "SO...," but that would be taboo.
Anyways it's been a turbulent year I've had to go to court for several different reasons, real shitty stuff and seemingly pointless things. I pulled my hair out trying to come up with new ideas in Photoshop so I went, quite literally, back to the drawing board.
New medication led to insomnia which sparked my interest in listening to metal and electronic which led to a spill-canvas of new ideas. Mind you, this all took place in my room around 2:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
I got my pencils, pens, highlighters, spraypaint, and even some blood, sweat from my palms, and tears to work for me. The first quarter of this year I listlessly and ritually made quite a few distinct and pleasurable doodles and pictures.
It all started when I envisioned bells vibrating without sound. I just had to draw them the way I saw them. No inspiration here just sleep deprivation.
Instinct sweeps in pushing me to my limits, or is it the medication?
Either way I strayed into a vast mellow-dramatic series of drawings which I kept in two different sketch books.
The results will be displayed soon. And more commentary.
